How to swap a Lamy Safari LZ50 fountain pen nibUpdated 10 months ago

Being able to swap a Lamy LZ50 stainless steel nib is a skill that opens up your fountain pen to the ability to change out nib sizes at will. If you have a Lamy Safari, AL-Star, Studio, Logo, Joy, Scala, Nexx or CP1 fountain pen, you can freely exchange the nibs between these collections using the method on this video. Lamy also provides the LZ50 steel nib to purchase separately (available at goldspot.com) so you can have extra nibs on hand to vary your writing style.

  1. Stick a piece of tape over the metal portion of the Lamy fountain pen nib.
  2. Holding the pen's grip section securely, slide the nib off the feed, using the tape as a grip to help pull the nib.
  3. Slide the replacement nib on the rails of the feed until it reaches the base of the feed.
